Starlink Gen 3 (sometimes called REV4 or Dish V4 + Router Gen 3) is SpaceX’s latest and most powerful consumer satellite internet system. Built for residential, rural, and roam users, it brings reliable broadband to places where fiber or cable is unavailable.
What’s New in Gen 3?
- Dish V4 (Antenna): Thinner, lighter, and more rugged. Uses an electronic phased‑array antenna with a 110° field of view for stable sky coverage.
- Gen 3 Router: Redesigned router with Wi‑Fi 6 tri‑band (4×4 MU‑MIMO), coverage up to 297 m² / 3,200 sq. ft, and support for up to 235 connected devices. Includes 2x Ethernet ports (with cover) for wired links.
- Improved Durability: Terminal rated IP67, operates in -30°C to +50°C (-22°F to +122°F), handles winds 60+ mph, and heats to melt up to 40 mm (1.5 in) of snow per hour.
- Performance: Typical download 25–220 Mbps, upload 5–20 Mbps, latency 25–50 ms, with bursts higher depending on service tier.
